Join Willy A. for good ol’ fashioned Chicago blues honed to sweet perfection. The music ranges from solo down home numbers, rollicking band-driven R&B and smoky after hours cuts, featuring top-tier blues musicians, both old favorites, such as Muddy Waters, who is generally considered “the father of Chicago blues,” and up-and-coming. Chicago has a storied history with blues that goes back generations, stemming from the Great Migration from the South and particularly the Mississippi Delta region in pursuit of advancement and better career possibilities for musicians. This show is sponsored by Ethel’s Lounge in Waterloo. Willy is a member of the Grand River Blues Society.
